The Ultimatum

Terry and Ann sat at the red light for what seemed like forever. They sat in silence because they were upset with each other. Earlier that afternoon Terry was upset because Ann didn’t want to hang out with Terry’s friends. Ann made plans for them to have an intimate evening in which she’d hoped it would end with them spending the night together. Terry wanted to meet up with the gang because it was her friend’s 40th birthday celebration. Ann wasn’t having it and told Terry she needed to decide on what she wanted to do. Terry hated it when Ann gives her an ultimatum. Terry was becoming furious but knew if she had chosen to go out with the gang that it would mean the end of her and Ann’s relationship.
Ann turned the radio on and started scanning through the stations to find something to kill the tension in the truck. Terry told her she had a headache and didn’t want to hear any music, and she turned off the radio. Ann rolled her eyes and turned the radio back on. Terry pressed on the brakes, and it caused Ann to jerk back and hurt her shoulder. Ann screamed and asked Terry what was wrong with her. Terry quickly apologized to Ann and asked her to forgive her. Ann told her to pull over because she was going to Uber back home. Terry knew she messed up the mood, and Ann was not feeling her. Ann told her to pull over or take her back home. Terry begged her to reconsider going out so that they can talk about some things. Ann did not budge from her decision and told Terry to take her home. Terry turned the truck around and headed back towards Ann’s house. Ann turned the radio off and picked up her phone to text her best friend, Jeanine.  Terry saw that she texted Jeanine and knew that she was in serious shit with Ann. Terry tried to grab Ann’s hand, but she pulled away and told her not to touch her again.
They pulled up to Ann’s house, and she got out of the truck and slammed the door. Terry quickly got out of the truck and walked around to Ann. Ann’s phone started ringing, and she picked it up. Terry was about to say something, but Ann lifted her hand for her to be quiet. Ann asked Jeanine to hold on because she needed to talk to Terry. Ann muted the phone and looked Terry in the face and asked her what did she had to say. Terry could see that Ann’s eyes were tearing up and she was about to cry. Terry tried to wipe Ann’s eyes but she pushed her hand away from her face. Ann told Terry to go hang out with her friends. Terry told her she didn’t want to go out with her friends. Ann said to Terry that she should’ve thought about that before being an asshole. Terry stood there and asked Ann if she was really going to be that way. Ann walked past her and went inside her house. Terry started to go knock on Ann’s door until she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket. Terry saw that she had got a message from an old friend asking why Terry wasn’t at Kia’s Surprise party. Terry looked in Ann’s window and saw her on the phone sitting on the couch. Terry walked back towards her truck and started it up. Terry replied to the message and the old friend that she was on her to the party alone. Terry backed out of Ann’s driveway and didn’t notice Ann looking out the window.
Ann started yelling, and Jeanine asked her what was wrong. Ann told her that Terry didn’t try to make things better, but she had left to go hang out with her friends. Ann started crying, and Jeanine told her to calm down. Jeanine asked Ann if she wanted her to come over to keep her company. Ann told her no because she was going to find Terry and find out what her problem was. Jeanine asked how she was going to find out where Terry was going. Ann told her that she had her ways, and Jeanine didn’t need to worry about her because she was fine. Jeanine told her not to do anything that she would regret. Ann told Jeanine that she isn’t going to regret anything she does to her and hangs the phone up. Jeanine tried calling back, but Ann sent her calls straight to voicemail. Ann pulled up google maps on her phone, and Terry’s picture popped up on the screen… To be cont.
